Anyone know the best way to kill a tree. Is there anything out there you can do besides using a heavy duty chemical. I'm talking smaller trees that grow in the fence line. Edit: Since this was posted I have learned a few things. Please read my article here.[/color]

Just hard labor. I use "Round up" if I can't pull or dig them up easily.

Dang! I sooo really don't want to use chemicals but I guess I'll have to. They are just too darn big to dig up. I let them go and this is what I get. Rats.
Thanks Pdoo.

Yeah I know I hate to use them too, but they are suppose to dissipate quickly from the soil. We have some awful little tree that come up as weeds around here and you have to get them out quickly or they are impossible. They don't even need water. They are not pretty at all and smell awful. A lot of neighbors have let them grow to full size trees, and are they tall and drops tons of awful leaves! We have lazy neighbors they keep letting them grow on the fence line. Believe me if I see one of those darn things peeking through my fence I grab the spray and spray it right over the fence! They have nothing but dirt and weeds anyway, and it is behind there garage. There was a vacant house across the alley from my house and they wee growing and were already 8 feet tall! I grabbed my spray and took care of those darn things. Yes, love my spray! ;D

I did try to get rid of some of them earlier in the year but for every one I got rid of a couple more sprouted up. Grrrr. My yard needs so much work but this new gardener guy I hired earlier this summer, hopefully, will start getting my yard in shape but I know he wants to use chemicals so I was hoping someone had a "organic" way to get rid of them. Plus, I'm not sure if I can afford to have this guy do everything that needs to be done with my yard...in fact I know I can't afford it. I should try to do some of it on my own to save some $$$'s. Let's see, spray pesky saplings or play on the computer...hmmmmm.

Yes, it's kind of like I'm 007 on a mission to rid the neighborhood of unwanted villainous saplings as I whip my spray nozzle over the fence of an unsuspecting neighbor, hoping to remain unseen as I complete my mission for a beautiful, lustrous neighborhood.
