If you have a problem with a door not staying ajar when you want it to but rather swings all the way open then this tip is for you! First of all, this is a sure sign your door frame is no longer plumb/square but there is a easy way to fix a door so it will stay put. But first, find two pieces of wood, a few shims, your hammer and a large nail. Close the offending door. Put a few shims between the door and the jam so when you remove the hinge pin it will stay shut. Now using your hammer and the big nail, drive the upper hinge pin out. Now take those two scraps of wood and lay them side by side so the pin can lay across the two pieces of wood. Take your hammer and give it a good strike. (Now don't use all your striking power. You just want to barely bend it so maybe a couple of taps to get the feel of how hard you need to whack it to give it a ever so slight bend.) Once you put the slightly bent pin back in it should prevent the door from having a mind of it's own.

HI jumperashley81, Thanks, glad you liked the tip. Also want to apologize for not being around to greet you. I'm not active on this site anymore but leave it open for folks who may find something helpful. That said, am considering making an effort to get this place rolling again. Hope you venture back.
