Every think about how you'd survive if you got lost. Just take a quick look at this link<<. After reading this I feel rather good that I have wild strawberries growing on one side of my house. Now I know I'll never starve and can go grazing there in a pinch. As a kid, I used to munch on Sheep Sorrel all the time. Yum! Now I have plenty of dandelions and have actually eaten them but.....don't like them so much. Never tried the day lilies but if food prices keep going up I may have a day lily salad. LOL

Thats cool. I grew up on a farm and we had many of those plants growing there. I never realized that so many were edible.
There are a few that are so similar in appearance to poisonous ones that I would be nervous about eating them unless someone who knows the difference checked them out.
I envy you your wild strawberries JJ. We used to have them on the farm and would go pick for hours so we could have strawberry shortcake and Mom would freeze some for later. I have never had a strawberry as good as the wild ones.

ROFL...I came to this thread wondering how in the heck one can "edit" a plant!
Anyways, now that I'm here & realize this is not the topic I was expecting, I have to add that we used to eat honeysuckle all the time when we were kids. We would pull the flowers & suck the honey out. YUM. Also my grandmother lived on the edge of the woods & she showed us how to spot wild mint plants.
I have lots of day lilies JJ.....I never knew they were edible.
