Normally, I hate when a perfectly good tree gets cut down but day before yesterday crews were out cutting this huge tree down and it is one of the trees that block my view of the Bluffs and river soooo, I'm pretty happy about that but a little sad about the tree. It was huge but I do think it was also so old that a lot of branches were probably a danger so it may be best. I don't know why I'm posting this....I mean who cares besides me.

They cut down a large tree by my house this summer and I wasn't happy about it. Those old trees are beautiful but they do get dangerous, often before we can see it.
It was on my neighbor's property so they replaced it already with a small one. I won't see it grow huge but its nice to know there is another one there.

I'll tell you when I did get really upset was when, at my previous home, the new neighbors moved in and immediately cut down a gorgeous old weeping willow. You just don't see many here in the mid-west that are as pretty as that one was. When I saw them I mentioned the tree and they said they were from Arizona and couldn't stand anything but wide open spaces. Then later they added that they heard somewhere that kids can hang themselves in weeping willows. I don't know if that is true but if it is, then I guess I can understand that all right. But, oh, it was this huge beautiful tree. I almost cried over that tree. Side note: Oh dear, my smileys are still messed up. I'm going to have to pull them all out and start all over again. Sheesh.
