We had 50 MPH winds last night & woke up this morning to one of our neighbors giant pine trees laying across our backyard! Thank God it didn't hit the house. I left a message on the neighbor's answering machine, but they aren't up yet. I'm assuming their home owners insurance should pay for the removal. I hope they get on it fast, I'm afraid with my dogs & their dogs.....I hope they don't try to get through the huge hole in the privacy fence. What a way to start the morning!

Here's some pics of the tree in our yard & you can see from the neighbors yard how it uprooted & went right through the fence (and our shed roof). Click to enlarge the photos. View from the neighbors yard: view from our yard:

What a mess! We have a couple of tall trees by our house and I worried about that happening. Fortunately we only had the power going off and on but no trees down..

Wow, that is awful! What a mess to clean up. And is that your fence or theirs?

Its their fence. Their homeowners insurance will cover the tree removal & the fence repair. It doesn't cover my shed, but my shed was old & not in such great shape anyway so we're just going to have nit removed after we empty it.

Well they removed the tree yesterday...it took them all day long, but it's gone. They are back today repairing the fence. I looked at my shed today & the roof is completely caved in. I'm gonna open the door & look inside when it stops raining, but I'm not going inside...its too dangerous. My brother in law said he'll come over & help me so I'll wait for him.

I hope you didn't have anything too important stored in there. I still think they should give you something for that shed even if it is a few bucks for removal. It was, after all serving a purpose even if it wasn't in good shape.
I'm glad they got to cleaning it up. I bet that was a lot of work.

I hope Bill's lawnmower & weed Whacker are Ok. That's really the only things of value we have in there & they are both new.

Wow, that is horrible. I am glad that no one got hurt.
It does seem a bit unfair about your shed. Regardless as to how old it was, it still did serve a purpose. I hope your lawnmower and such were not harmed in anyway.
We had horrible winds also, and lost a tree over night. It landed on our power lines, and just layed there. Thankfully, it never made the power go out. Took em forever to come get it. And when they did show up, it was at 2 in the morning! Which dont bother me none as Im up then, but it was sooo loud!
