At my old home I had huge trees that produced mountains of leaves. The first few years I dutifully raked them up putting them in the paper leaf bags our city requires. One year I had nearly a full tank of gas in my lawn mower and in order to get the mower ready for the winter I needed to run the gas out. How to do this? Well, I got this idea I would just "mow" the leaves I had raked into several piles to break them down. Initially, my intention was to make the piles fit into the limited amount of leaf bags I had on hand. As I mowed over and over the pile with my mulching mower the piles soon became smaller and smaller as the leaves disintegrated. In the end I had several small mound of finely chopped leaves which I just tossed in the flower beds and raked what remained over the lawn.
I then did one final mowing over the lawn until I ran out of gas. Not only did I provide some much need nutrition to my flower beds and lawn but I saved on recycle leaf bags, ran my mower out of gas and had a beautiful lawn to boot.
Try it.

Oh no! That stinks. Do you have a garage? Maybe you could just open the doors and let it run in there. Mow the cement! I imagine there is a way to empty it without starting it but I've never done that so I couldn't tell you how but now I'm interested so may do a bit of searching for the how to's. Actually, I think that is what is wrong with my mower. It is nearly brand new. I think I mowed my lawn a few times with it at my old house. Then I went to mow my lawn at this house and (I posted about this before) realized I could not mow the front so hired someone to do the whole lawn. I forgot I had gas in it when I parked it in the garage and when I was "between" lawn mower guys I tried to start it and it wouldn't start. Hopefully, it isn't ruined. I've yet to try anything some others have suggested. No time are inclination to get it going again.
