My foyer had a number of holes in the plaster and cracks I needed to fix. So I got out my tools and went to work. But I ended up with a far smoother texture than the original plaster.
I honestly did not know what to do. It looked horrible. Then I got an idea of watering down the plaster and using a paint roller to roll over the whole wall. It worked beautifully to cover up my smooth plaster job and now you can't even tell there ever were patches.
