So every three years I start having a problem with the washer water not being able to drain so the water comes backs up in the basement floor drain. I have to have a plumber router it out. First, plumbers ask more per hour than doctors and it makes me furious. Boo to unions! You people aren't worth what you ask per hour! Secondly, I hate their condescending attitude toward women. I am not stupid, I know when you haven't done a good job because I know what a good job looks like and it isn't water still backing up in the floor drain. A little bit better isn't fixing it.
Case in point. I call Two Guys and a Snake as they said they'd probably be able to fix my issue for under $100 bucks. That's like 3 times cheaper than other plumbers. So the guy I get at least doesn't have his crack showing (last one did) but he reminds me of the despicable used car salesmen we all hate. He has this song and dance that what he just did is AS GOOD AS it will get (still backing up and quite a bit still). I begged to differ with him and explained again I have this done ever three years and every plumber has had to router it out twice. After more salesmen crap talk I finally got tired of arguing and said I'll see how it goes when I do a load of laundry. Of course it didn't work, backing up just like before and if there were any difference, it was so insignificant, I couldn't see the difference.
So I call them back and tell them I want someone to come out to fix it the right way. (Explained all that went on.) I told them I do not want the same guy coming out. They said that would be no problem, a different guy it will be. Nope, same guy and he re-router'd it again but the thing is, both times he router'd it differently than the 10 times I had i done before. But anyway, second time is better and I figured I could live with it but still, it was NOT fixed totally.
Don't tell me you get what you pay for. A hundred bucks an hour is plenty and any self respecting plumber shouldn't ask for more. Nothing like price gouging. Plumbers are no better than Martin Shkreli and I'd love to smack them both.
