Don't, don't, don't power wash your house before painting. Your paint job will last much longer if you take a bucket of water with a scrub brush and scrub the dirt off the siding. Then do a soft rinse and let it dry for several days not one day.
Why? Because power washing does not get it clean anymore than than power washing gets your car clean. In addition you are forcing water up the siding unless you are on scaffolding spraying down.
And my personal opinion: Spray painting your house is fine if you follow up with a brush to really get it in any grooves which in turn makes the paint grip more.
