This is tricky but I have a few easy tips that will make it a clean easy job. What you'll need: - Those tiny little rollers made for getting into tight spaces. (cost, about $1.00)
- Painters tape or masking tape
- A extra wooden paint mixing stick(ask for an extra when you pick up your bathroom paint) or wood shims will work
- A garbage bag
- And of course all the tools you normally use for painting
First of all, get a garbage bag and cover your toilet tank. Pull the garbage bag tightly toward the front and tape securely there so no plastic is in the way of painting. Now grab your itty-bitty paint roller and the wooden stick or shim (break off the weakest part of the shim) and lay the handle of the roller on the stick/shim and tape it securely. This will give you an extention so you can get to all areas behind the toilet. Leave the garbage bag on until you are completely done painting in any areas around the toilet as it will catch any accidental drips. See, I told you it would be easy.

That sure beats hugging the germy thing trying to reach behind it.

Those tiny little rollers sure come in handy! I never thought of the garbage bad idea though. I usually just scraped the paint off the toilet when I was done.

Luckily, it does scrape off the toilet pretty easy if you want to skip the garbage bag. And who cares if there is paint on the very back of the toilet. LOL

I agree. LOL But you know, I find it does bother me. I know its back there, and it just eats at me until I scaped it all off. LOL I guess I just had way to much time on my hands.
