Well, as you can see, I am brand new here. I took a look around, read the rules and why this site was created, and must say, I look forward to seeing the rest. (tried to read most of them. If I break any, please forgive me, and just let me know. I wasnt sure if I could use my site in my siggy with a picture?)
My name is Becky, I am 26 years old. Happily married to my husband, Craig, for almost 3 years now. We have no children, nor do we want any, or plan on any. We bought our place a month after we were married, and spent about 4 months fixing the land up and getting it all ready. After being here almost 2 years, we are ready to move. I have decieded that I would rather spend money on a cheaper house that needs some work, and put money into redoing it our way. (My husband, not so much. LOL) So I think that I am going to love this site very much. If there is anything you'd ever like to know about me, please ask. I look forward to getting to know everyone.

Hi! It's great to have you here Becky. You are welcome to leave your site banner in your siggie. I would ask that you make it a little smaller since I have a very narrow site and it sort of stretches the page. But absolutely, you can advertise whatever you want in your siggie and feel free to talk about your site as well if you want in the chat area.
You'll have to keep us updated on the process of finding that fixer-upper house. I'm one of these odd people who loves looking at homes whether a simple little cracker-box or the most awesome mansion. I'm just always thinking of ways to make things better. Being as I'm a little bit of a girlie-girl I never thought I'd say this but I love working on my home. I love looking at all my tools. Yes, I'm weird.
Anyway, I'm yakking too much. And you'll have to forgive me, I neglected this site for a while so somethings sort of came to a stop but I'm slowly getting back at it and trying to complete some projects I left hanging.
So I bid you a big Welcome! I look forward to getting to know you too!

Welcome Becky! I have always rented so I'm limited as to the changes and improvements I can make in the homes I live in but I love learning how to do new things. Like Tumbleweed, I also love seeing other homes and the before and after pics. I checked out your site. It looks like it will be a lot of fun. I'm going to go join when I finish here. I checked out your hamburger cake. I'm obviously getting tired because I couldn't figure out how anyone could make a cake using hamburg. I'm going to try to make one myself, maybe for my son's birthday in April.

Becky, Welcome aboard!
I know you'll find heaps of help & ideas here. I suddenly found myself being the "man of the house" after my husband suffered a traumatic brain injury. Everyone here has been so wonderful at helping me learn how to fix & do things that I never cared to learn about when Bill was well. I'm glad to say he's recovering, but these things take a lot of time to heal so until he's back to himself I'm relying on people here to help me through.
By the way, I'm in PA...not far from you at all!

Thanks for all the welcomes. Tumbleweed: I love looking at all homes also! Even the ones out of my price range. LOL My husband on the other hand, wants something newer, but I prefer a much older house. I thin they have more caracter. Barb: Actually laughed outloud on the hamburger cake comment. Let me know how yours turns out! Misty: I am so very sorry to hear about your husband, Bill. But glad to hear that he is recovering. I dont know much about fixing anything, Im learning day by day, but if you all ever have any questions, feel free to ask, I will ask my husband or Dad.

I didn't know a thing about fixing anything either when I bought this fixer upper house. And I never dreamed I would even enjoy it. My Dad passed away when I was teen so I couldn't learn things from him. My older brother has been a great help to me. I've learned so much from him. He built his own home with his own hands so there isn't much he doesn't know.
And I'm with you 100%. Most of the average homes built now-a-days have zero character in my opinion but you can't hardly find a really old home that doesn't have character and quality workmanship. Even in the tiniest little old bungalow you can find things like wonderful hard wood floors and crown molding, etc.
