I have been working on the site, behind the scenes, puzzling over a coding dilemma that has used up far too much of my time. I almost have it all figured out so I should be doing things here or there that are noticeable. Hello Tumbleweed.... As I have stated before, "you can do it" > take a deep breath and I believe it's black coffee > then back to the chalkboard you go! Off topic here, boy oh boy have we been getting some winds around here in the last hour or so... Got to get as things seem to be flying all over the place (inside).

Your smiley is just too cute. I laughed and laughed over it. It isn't windy inside or out here but it got cool. I'm chilly here in my attic. Well, I got that code all figured out on my test site and it worked wonderful so I transfer it here and it is all messed up. I don't get it! All my settings are the same. This is getting ridiculous. Yippee, I got it so at least it looks half way o.k. in IE. FF looks perfect except it is a bit off-center. There is always something but hopefully I'll figure out that little bug. I hope it is o.k. in other browsers. Doing a happy dance. Hopefully, when I close my browser tonight and come back tomorrow it won't be different. That happens sometimes even if I clear my cookies and cache.

Started to post earlier, but brother came over to drop off soffit and needed tools for the front and rear of house (eaves only) that is long over due. Trying to get ready before winter sets in. Anyways, thanks much for the smilie comments and it is one of my favorites. No ribs broken, I hope from laughing so hard. I knew you could do it and for what it's worth, don't ever give up. Are you still trying to figure out the attic issue? Unless being there, I'm sorta at a loss for helping or even suggesting the "how to", but still working on the solution to this.

No broken ribs but it did my soul well to laugh like that.
So are you repainting the eaves or replacing parts of them?
My attic (closet) is on hold. I decided I needed to concentrate on things that need to be done now, just as you are, before it gets too cold. Like I need to do the putty stuff around my windows but I've just been doing the ones that are really bad. They really all need to be redone but you won't catch me on a ladder doing the 3rd floor. Now way! Anyway, I think I have around 34 windows that I need to take a look at. I did do one window on the 2nd floor in the guest room last year and instead of climbing on a ladder I hung out the window to do it. It wasn't easy but I just get so shaky when I have to go very high on a ladder. Not my favorite thing to do.

So are you repainting the eaves or replacing parts of them? Neither as we'll be going over wood eaves soffit as I'm just tired of painting those things anyways. Sorry to hear the "attic closet" is on hold and I can surely understand. In my younger years, us fellows with dad's roofing outfit, use to go as high as ten stories (not ladders) downtown Cincy. Now that was up there but won't even think about that today. Speaking of windows, do you mean glazing them and if so, that is a lot of windows. I use to tell my painters, if your scared of high up's, then let's keep you low to the ground 'til your okay with heights.

Yes, glazing them. For some reason that word just wouldn't come to my mind when I was making my post.
What is funny or odd, Ron, is I am a tiny bit of a dare-devil. I love to snow ski (almost killed myself once), I've flown small planes (with instructors), I adore flying glider planes and loved backpacking up in the mountains which meant climbing up & down steep rocks, etc., yet my knees start shaking when I go up more than a few steps on a ladder. I don't get it. I'm also scared to death to go down stairs without hanging onto the railing and a few years ago I discovered I CANNOT go out on a balcony in a high rise (talking like 20th floor or so). I just could not force myself to go stand at the railing to look at the view. I was o.k. if I just plastered myself against the wall of the building and I'm fine looking out windows in high-rises. I guess everyone has phobias.

The new dictionary page is up. However, I'm not happy with it so plan to redo it again with all new coding but not for a while. I'm testing the coding on another site which will be the beta test before I try it here. Started to add some of the words Ron provided defintions to. Added the dictionary button at the top of the page. (Not positive I want it up there, though, but for now it is fine there.) Redid and updated the posting template for requesting a word so it now works again. Made a "New Topic" botton and added it to all the skins but I'm unsure as to if I want that up there. Sorted through my most recent flower pictures. I have some good ones.

Shannon has taken some excellent flower photos. I'll have to send some to you!

I would love to have as many flower pictures as I can get my hands on -if that is what you meant...that I could use them in my garden center?? So if Shannon has some good ones, I'd love to see them and I'd be glad to put a little credit on the image. Something like photo by Shannon.
You know my garden gallery could be very full of plant and flower pictures but it takes so long to research each one to put a little blurb about them. I could be working on this for the rest of my life 20 hours a day and still have millions more to add.
But still, I'm greedy and want as many pictures as I can get.
edit...aww, shoot. My dictionary still has images in it and they should be roll-over images. Always something I forgot to do...

Thanks Misty. Got them. They are wonderful photos. Your daughter is one good photographer! I'll let you know when I get the research done and have them up. It may take some time but I'll do them first.

Oh my gosh, that is awesome! I love that angle and it doesn't hurt the photo a bit that the tree has some cool bark. I just love nature pictures. I still haven't gotten to researching those plants. I've been busy drawing naked stick people. Seriously, I will get to them soon. I just took a whole bunch of pictures of my own and I'm just sorting them out, trashing the bad ones. I want to finish one project I had started about willow trees and then on to Shannons.

Misty, I am having a heck of a time finding what kind of plants those are in the photos Shannon took. I haven't given up. If I can't id them maybe I'll start a page called ID this plant. lol Seriously, I may have to because I so want to get her photos up somewhere. Meanwhile, I took a break and added a few other plants to the data base. Gosh, it just takes so long for each plant I get burnt out really easy. Having to verify everything 3-4 times, keep records of who I used as references. Writing up what I've learned and not sound like a total idiot. I need to take all the plants that I know about first and add them instead of going off trying to id plants because that alone can take hours trying to find the right plant. Oh well, even if I have a tiny data base when I die, maybe I can pass it on to someone else and they can keep adding.

Well, what in the world is going on. Yesterday I came to add some things to my mini-blog (on a blank page) about id'ing a maple and what do I see is all the smiley code showing on the page so I check other pages. Same thing. I go to my headers and footers to see if if there are any missing tags, which I knew there wouldn't be since I hadn't touched the coding there in months. I removed the smiley code until I could find the problem. Also I noticed my copyright was showing in the header rather than in the footer, where I have it and all the sudden it is off-center. My stat counter stuff was all messed up. I don't know why I checked it but the security log showed me only editing headers and footers and of course nothing was changed on most all of those pages. Today, I go to double-check it wasn't another code I was seeing show up on my pages and what do I find this time. All my tables are all out of whack. Now I know I didn't go into 20 pages and change the coding. So what is going on? I just don't get it but all my tables no longer have align="center" in them. Is ProBoards revamping things and messing up peoples layouts or are there browser changes? Very frustrating. Yes I can fix these things but how they changed on their own is beyond me. Grrrr! Like I have time to spend doing this when I should be adding content when I have free time. Anyway, yesterday, prior to discovering just how much of my site is now messed up, I did a little more reseach & the info has been added to the mini-blog ID'ing a maple. Today I put the smiley code on a test site and although I don't see the coding itself showing anywhere the actual images to the smileys aren't working. Happy to say they did show up after I checked back 15 minutes later but gee whiz, what next? I think I will be going to hosted style sheets from now on so if there is a change I need to make it can be made to all pages. I should have done that in the first place. Somehow, there has been a ghost on this site removing all my centering html. O.K. I'm off to setting up the dumb style sheets.
