I love the colors! The green is a nice soft shade but even more, I like the ceiling color! It drives me nuts when people paint and leave their ceiling white. Those curtains look perfect with the ceiling color and are a nice contrast against the green. Looks like you did an excellent job.
Oh, and I see what you mean about the transom window. That is a shame they just covered it and I hope you can find a way to open that up on the outside and then do a frame, like how Army did but with just a frame so you get the light.
I bet it feels good to go in there with the new paint. I always feel cheery when I have freshly painted room.
Right now you have inspired me to get to painting some of the rooms in my house that need it. Really, it doesn't cost THAT much to paint a room. I'll have to come back to this thread if my inspiration runs out to get reinspired.
And don't feel bad about the clutter. When you have someone handicapped you end up with a lot of things that you normally wouldn't have where you have them. I know. It's the same way in my house.
Nice work Misty! And thanks for taking the time to post the picutres.

Thanks! I was so proud of myself....I did all the edging without taping anything off. I only taped when I did the windows because of all the tight spots. Whoever painted before us did a sloppy job. There was paint on the edges of the cabinets...I don't know why they weren't more careful.
I do love that green! It does make me want to spend more time in there. I have almost a gallon left so I'm gonna paint my upstairs hallway the same color eventually.
If you decide to use Sherwin Williams paint, google Sherwin Williams coupons. They often have printable coupons you can use.

Wow, your edges look great. Whoever painted my living room did a horrible job too. That is the one room I want to do most just because I notice that sloppy paint job every day. But that room is also the one that will take the most prep work.
My little sister, the interior decorator (not officially) nags me every time she comes to my house about painting the living room but gosh.....thinking about it makes me tired.
Maybe if I start with baby steps. Like that crown molding has to be sanded down or stripped so if I take one little segment and just work on it and then move on, maybe just maybe some day soon I'll have all the prep work done. I just can't bring myself to paint that living room with that crown molding like it is.
I'm babbling...but before I go I have to say, I love that china hutch you have. It is beautiful. I just adore antiques.

Yeah just start with something small & you'll get there. It is a big job & it took me awhile to get to feeling like doing it, but once I started, I just had to keep going till it was finished. And now that you mention my china cupboard, I guess I should bring my boxes of crystal up out of the basement & fill it back up.

I kind of wondered why it was empty for a sec and then realized you had to empty it to move it to paint. Duh.

Misty...
Outstanding is all I can say and just love those colors! The ceiling looks like it has been faux painted and what a sheen it has.
I especially noticed the sharp edge cutting in (wall to ceiling) which you surely did with precision, and that in my opinion, shows a true painter skill, that's hard to come by.
Everywhere I look, there is no doubt, one professional paint job you did and by all means, pat yourself on the shoulder for me.
Without question, I'd hire you in a heart beat.
Cheers...

awww, thanks Army! I really don't think I'd want to do it as a career though. I like the actual painting but I hate moving all the furniture & standing on a ladder & all that. Plus, I like to take as much time as I need. BUT it means a lot that you liked it so much....as a professional, you surely have a condescending eye & I'm pleased that you think so much of the job I did.
